ApnaTrivia is a multiplayer quiz application operated by I8N Tech LLC. This policy explains what information we process when you host or play a game and how to contact us about it.
Information we collect
- Host accounts: your email address, account identifier, and authentication records. Email and password sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth; passwords are not stored as plain text in our application database.
- Google sign-in: if you choose Google, Supabase Auth receives basic account information such as your Google identifier, email address, name, and profile picture, where provided. We use this information to create and authenticate your host account. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or calendars.
- Quiz and game content: quiz titles, descriptions, questions, answers, settings, host notes, game names, and game history.
- Player information: nicknames or team names, game and personal PINs, session records, submitted answers, response times, scores, manual point adjustments, and rankings. Hosts may enter participant names before those participants join. Players do not need an account or email address.
- Technical information: requests to our service may include IP addresses, browser information, timestamps, and error information in hosting or authentication logs. The application also uses hashed IP-based identifiers to limit repeated requests and protect game access.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate hosts, run and synchronize games, reconnect players, validate answers, calculate scores, display results, retain host game history, respond to support requests, and protect the service against misuse. We do not sell personal information or use Google account data for advertising.
What other people can see
Your host can see the participant roster, answers, response times, scores, and personal PINs for their game. Participant names, scores, and rankings may be visible to other players and to anyone watching the host’s presentation screen. Public quiz descriptions and active game content may also be shown during joining and play.
Host private notes are restricted to the host view and are excluded from player and presentation views. Authorized service administrators and infrastructure providers may process stored information to operate and support the service. Private notes are not a place to store passwords, financial information, or other sensitive personal information.
Use a nickname if you do not want your real name displayed. Keep personal PINs private: someone with both your game PIN and personal PIN may be able to access your player session and results. Hosts should only enter participant information they are entitled to use.
Cookies and session storage
We use essential cookies to keep hosts signed in, complete authentication, and recognize a player’s session for a particular game. Clearing cookies or switching browsers can remove that device’s access; players can use their game PIN and personal PIN to rejoin while the game remains available. Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in or play. The application does not currently include advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts.
Service providers and transfers
We use Supabase for authentication, database storage, and realtime updates, and Vercel for hosting and delivery. Google handles authentication when you choose Google sign-in. These providers process information needed to deliver their services, including infrastructure and security logs. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
We may also disclose information when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users, or protect the service.
Retention and deletion
Host accounts, quizzes, and game records are retained to provide the service and game history until deleted or otherwise removed. A game session expires after 90 days of inactivity so its join code can be released. Expiration does not automatically erase historical results, participant records, or account information.
Removing a participant from the active roster does not necessarily erase their historical answers or score adjustments. Deleting a quiz may also leave game snapshots in host history. Copies in backups and operational logs may remain for the providers’ retention periods or where needed for security or legal obligations.
To request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, email contact@i8n.tech. Players can also contact their game host. Include enough context to locate the relevant account or game, but do not email passwords or personal PINs. We may need to verify your identity or relationship to the game before acting.
Your choices and children’s privacy
Google sign-in is optional; hosts can use email and password instead. You can manage the app’s Google access in your Google Account settings. Disconnecting Google access does not itself delete information already stored in ApnaTrivia; contact us for a deletion request.
ApnaTrivia is intended for adult hosts organizing recreational games. Children should participate only with appropriate parent or guardian permission and supervision, using nicknames rather than identifying details. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to create host accounts. Contact us if you believe a child’s personal information has been supplied without appropriate permission.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. Contact us to exercise those rights or raise a concern.
Security and policy updates
We use access controls, server-side authorization, and encrypted connections to help protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the service changes; the date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated where required by applicable law.
